Motor yacht
The rugged pilot boats that serve great harbours inspire the designs for the PilotCruiser™ series of motor yachts. Naval architect Iver Franzen has drawn upon his extensive background as a licensed captain, to combine reliability and sea keeping ability, with comfortable accommodations and ease of operation. Only the finest materials are used in the PilotCruiser™, with great attention paid to light weight and solid construction.
The 42 is designed for the couple who wants an easily managed and very comfortable cruising boat. The owners have a comfortable double cabin forward with a private entrance to the head and separate shower stall. Guests are accommodated with a small guest cabin forward to port which is convertible to a double. At least three or four more can sleep on the various settees. All have 'public' access to the head as well. Aft of the cabins and head are the galley to port and the lower salon to starboard. The dining table can be reset to convert that settee to a double if desired.
Topside, the large pilothouse has the room to entertain all on board. Aft of the helm/nav area you'll find a full-length settee with coffee/dining table to starboard, and a cozy dinette for two to port, which can also be convertible to a berth.
Standard power is from a pair of Yanmar 6LP-DTE 250hp diesels, with an optional upgrade to the 300hp STE diesels. The original design calls for props and shafts off of V-drives. However, a jet drive configuration is being designed, and will be available as an option. There are full 110VAC capabilities. Aft of the large engine room (under the pilothouse) is the rudder/jet room, with ample additional storage for an assortment of deck gear.
